Week 13 journal

What does it mean to collaborate? And what role does collaboration play in everyday writing?

Collaborating means to work with two or more people, using each others ideas to create the finished piece of writing or other type of project. When collaborating, it's important that each person involved has the same idea or focus so each idea can be combined properly and make sense. Also, it's important that each person is willing to listen to other people's ideas that might not be exactly like theres. Collaboration is used to either answer a certain argument, improve any certain problem, or just to complete a project. An example of collaboration is a magazine. Multiple people come together to write their own articles with their own pictures, and then they put them all together at the end to complete one final project.
Collaboration also can play a role in everyday writing, giving a bigger meaning to a piece of writing. Not only would the piece of writing just be one persons opinion, but a bunch of minds were put together to create the piece. The work of more people will improve the chances of the quality of the writing being greater than if just one person worked on it. A greater portion of the audience will be able to relate and appreciate the writing if more opinions were put into it. When more people agree with your writing it will be overall more effective.
