Week 13

"A collaboration is the action of working with someone to produce or create something." When collaborating, it is important for the authors to work together and find common ground so that the project they are working on is cohesive. For example, if you are reading an article where the two writers have different opinions, you would not get a clear idea of what the article is telling you. On the other hand, collaborations of different things can work sometimes. For example, in a collaboration of music artists, Nelly and Florida Georgia Line worked together to remix the song Cruise. Although I personally do not care for the remix, it became popular on the charts and proved that collaborations of different ideas can work.
Popular examples of collaboration that we see in our everyday lives include magazines and newspapers. Many different journalists come together to report different and unrelated stories that eventually get laid out and bound together into one common publications.
In the reading, we learn about a newspaper, The Daily Prophet. This newspaper is run by fans, mostly children, and Heather Lawver as the managing editor. This collaboration of 102 children, is very successful and it read by thousands everyday. The children make up stories about what is going on in the fictional wizard world.
Collaboration and everyday writing compliment each other in the case of The Daily Prophet, because the children are encouraged to write about whatever they desire. This type of imaginative writing is not taught in school, therefore it is everyday and un-institutionalized.
